United Nations International Day of Peace and Roots of Peace 19th Anniversary Benefit Gala Dinner
Our Vision Turning MINES TO VINES — replacing the scourge of landmines with
bountiful vineyards and orchards worldwide.
Since 1997, Roots of Peace has worked with international partners including
USAID, USDA, DOD, ADB, GTZ, PM/WRA, The World Bank, Rotary Clubs and
California vintners to replace minefields with agricultural lands in Afghanistan,
Angola, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cambodia, Croatia, Iraq, Israel, Palestine and
Vietnam. Over five million trees have been planted and one million farmers
impacted, as we provide food security and sustainable peace on war-torn lands.
Today, there are millions of remnants of war remaining in the former
battlefields of Vietnam which maim or kill innocent children and farmers.
Roots of Peace is working with thousands of Vietnam farmers to grow
fresh pepper on former minefields.
Join us, as we turn MINES TO VINES in the former DMZ of Vietnam.Date and Time
