The San Rafael Chamber & Working Solutions: Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed

January 08, 2017
Working Solutions has been a proud San Rafael Chamber member since 2012. The nonprofit micro lender has partnered with the Marin Economic forum to create the Marin Loan Fund. This was designed to provide capital in the form of small business loans to entrepreneurs who are not eligible for bank loans. Together, they have created a fund with over $350,000 in lending capital that has been used to fund Marin based businesses. One of our best success stories is a new local small business, Heart of Greens. When they joined the San Rafael Chamber, Leonard Weingarten - the Chamber's Director of Development - referred the business owners to Laurie O'Hara of Working Solutions for a business loan. Laurie consulted with the owners and found that their business was an excellent candidate for a micro loan to pay for startup expenses and working capital. They have since funded for a $50,000 loan with Working Solutions in October 2016. They are well on their way to creating a much needed transportation food service company in San Rafael.
