About Us

Cal-Pox, Inc. is a Marin based family owned real estate development company that has been a member of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce for 40 years. The company has its origins in San Quentin Disposal, the city's former landfill and one of Cal-Pox founder Martin Bramante's first acquisitions. Martin acquired the disposal site in 1967 and operated the landfill for twenty years, closing it in 1987 to develop Shoreline Center.

Martin's daughter, Susan Kirby, helped transform the land into a buzzing business center where today Sonnen BMW and Home Depot are located. When Susan passed away in 1999, her daughter Stephanie Kirby Plante assumed the presidency of the company.

In 2011, Cal-Pox, Inc. added Marin Honda to the Shoreline Center and received approval from the San Rafael City Council to develop a Target store next to Home Depot. In addition to the Shoreline Center, Cal-Pox, Inc.'s operations include commercial properties in San Francisco, Los Angeles and other sites in Marin County.

In 2005 the Marin Builders Association named Martin Bramante as their Man of the Year for his many contributions to the local community. Dedicated to continue Martin's positive philanthropic impact, Stephanie and the family continue that tradition today, with behind-the-scenes active support for a variety of worthwhile local causes including Artworks Downtown, the Canal Alliance, the Pickleweed Community Center, the Marin Builder's Association, the San Rafael Pacifics, the Headlands Institute and Heads Up San Rafael.
