Saving the Bay from Climate Change
The Time to Lead on Climate coalition will present an educational forum on "Saving the Bay from Climate Change" on Monday, April 25, 7-9 pm, at the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B St. in San Rafael.
The forum will address how Bay Area residents can meet the rapidly growing challenge of sea level rise and its impact on San Francisco Bay. It will include discussion of the Clean and Healthy Bay Measure AA appearing on the June 7 ballot.
Dr. Stephen Crooks, a UN Climate Delegate and contributor to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, will describe "The insistent science of sea rise level and its solutions."
Bay Area Council Policy Director Adrian Covert will address "The economic threat of rising tides."
Marin City Community Services District Chair Nancy Johnson will explain "We're all at risk."
Save the Bay Executive Director David Lewis will conclude with an overview "Measure AA, the Bay and our identity."
Marin Supervisor and Bay Conservation and Development Commissioner Kate Sears will moderate, and there will be audience Q & A.
