This series of 3 classes is perfect for those exploring business ownership and want more information about what it takes to run a business. Each class (Business Planning, Legal and Finance, and Marketing) can be taken individually or as a series.

Legal and Finance Workshop

The workshop covers various legal structures, business insurance, licenses/permits, leases/contracts, and protecting your intellectual property. It also goes over the basics of financing your business, estimating start-up costs, break even analysis, the importance of cash flow and how to manage it, as well as basic financial statements.

Instructor: Fermín Álvarez, holds both a B.A. in Education, with anemphasis in ESL from Universidad de Ciencias Pedagogicas Felix Varela and a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Universidad Central de Las Villas. An entrepreneur himself, Fermin is the executive chef and co-owner of Our Cuban Kitchen, an Oakland-based catering company, serving authentic Cuban cuisine to the Bay Area community.
