SUMMARY:Local Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking - Man-to-Man Discussions: Recognizing the Signs and Prevention Series with Shared Hope International
DESCRIPTION:The subject of child sex trafficking here in our local Marin neighborhood and community is a very sensitive one\, especially for men. Shared Hope International is a national non-profit with the mission to bring an end to sex trafficking through a three pronged approach: Prevent\, Restore and Seek Justice. (www.sharedhope.org) Shared Hope representatives have been co-sponsoring a series of educational forums at the San Rafael Elks Lodge\, with the purpose of educating the community to recognize the signs of abuse\, and to take pro-active preventative measures. There have been several sessions open to all\, and more are planned\, however this particular closed-door session is especially for men. (To be held in the historic Card Room at the Elks Lodge)\n\nFeatured Speakers:\n\nLes Higashi\, Ambassador of Hope\, Shared Hope International representative\n\nOfficer Bradley Kashack\, Marin County Sheriff's Office\, will discuss actual case examples\n\n\n\nWhile it is true that men are usually the perpetrators of this crime\, as pimps and johns\, it is also true that the majority of men in the community want to protect the teens in their own lives\, and those of their friends.\n\nEducation on the Facts vs. Myths of the commercial sex trade it the best way to know what really goes on in the lives of the minors caught in "the Life" and living in plain sight behind closed doors.
