Program Details: \;The ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH FORUM is a three-day event\, held at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center\, featuring a collection of challenging and engaging films\, speakers and exhibits by local environmental activists. Through the screening of dozens of films on multiple screens\, this three-day forum offers some of the newest and best thinking about environmentalism. It introduces students to environmental-related opportunities and concerns such as green jobs\, green lending and moral dilemmas that arise from issues such as global warming\, war\, over-population\, genetically modified foods\, etc. The forum has an &ldquo\;active cinema&rdquo\; component wherein representatives from a wide range of environmental groups provide information about the work of their organizations at tables in our &ldquo\;active cinema&rdquo\; room.

The themes for the 2016 EYF are: \;Bikes v.s Cars\, Respecting our Oceans\, &\; Engaging Working Class Communities. Some of our already programmed films: Landfill Harmonic\, In Defense of Food (a new documentary based on Michael Pollan&rsquo\;s book)\, The Boy and the World\, Racing with Copepods (with a panel discussion)\, Bikes vs. Cars\, Plant Pure Nation\, a return of '\;Cowspiracy'\;\, Catching the Sun and many more including some films in 3D.
