DESCRIPTION:Come to the Chamber AM program each month to network\, listen and learn.  At this face-to-face networking meeting\, you can grow your contact list\, hear how existing members have utilized benefits for positive outcomes and learn something new about our community so you gain a better understanding of how we serve businesses. We will have a different guest speaker monthly.\n\n \n\nA PUBLIC RELATIONS\, INFLUENCER AND SOCIAL MEDIA PRIMER\n\nPlease join the San Rafael Chamber for an informative session about public relations\, influencer relations and social media with Sarah Segal\, the founder\, and CEO of Segal Communications. Sarah's team represents countless Bay Area businesses\, including many in the North Bay\, such as Johnny Doughnuts\, Henhouse Brewing Company\, Anaba Winery\, and the newly opened San Rafael co-working space AvantSpace. Her agency also works with a bevy of technology companies and is working on a number of large conferences including the APEC conference. During this session\, Sarah will offer advice on doing your own PR\, getting started with an agency\, how much it costs\, and insights into the media landscape. As a former reporter with KRON 4\, Sarah has a holistic perspective of the communications industry. Attendees who are not ready to hire a professional just yet will walk away with a template for drafting a home-grown communications plan\, resources for building their profile in the media\, and strategies for developing a great elevator pitch that resonates with the media.\n\n\n\nMore about Sarah\n\nSarah began her career in journalism\, earning her M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. Prior to transitioning to public relations\, she worked on the producing teams for CBS on "20th Century with Mike Wallace"\, the award-winning "NBC News Special Reports" and as an on-camera TV reporter for local stations in New York and California.\n\nSarah worked in-house for both public and private companies before moving agency side. She advised tech startups with The Blueshirt Group before joining SHIFT Communications to work with retail\, food & beverage\, and cybersecurity clients. In 2018\, Sarah launched her own PR agency\, Segal Communications.\n\n \n\nSarah founded Segal Communications with the purpose of fostering a community that sought new methods\, developed new paths\, and helped clients meet and exceed their communications goals. She has created a company environment that celebrates the wins\, champions new ideas\, and nurtures creative thinking. Sarah thrives on operational processes and is well-regarded for her drive to find creative solutions that are unique to each client. She is rarely satisfied with the expected and is always working to improve upon proven methods and strategies. \n\n\n\nSarah is a member of the PR Council\, PRNet\, the San Francisco Public Relations Round Table\, Forbes Communication Council\, a board member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and a member of the San Francisco and San Rafael Chambers of Commerce.
