DESCRIPTION:MarinArts Presents\n\n\n\nThe 2018 High School Poetry Out Loud Competition\n\nFive to six students selected from Marin County high schools will compete in the 2018 Marin Poetry Out Loud Final Competition on February 10\, 2018 at the Mill Valley Library.\n\nA winner will be selected to represent Marin County in the California State Poetry Out Loud event March 18-19\, 2018 in Sacramento. Participating high schools include Drake\, The Marin School\, Marin School of the Arts\, San Marin\, and Tamalpais high schools.\n\nThe National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation have partnered with the California Arts Council to support 2018 Poetry Out Loud\, a FREE high school program which encourages the nation's youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. This dynamic program helps high school students master public speaking skills\, build self-confidence\, learn about their literary heritage\, and compete for more than $100\,000 in awards.
